Children can gain so much from learning about our changing Seasons and how they affect Nature and the world around us.
Our Sing A Song of Seasons song teaches little ones the seasonal order and changes that occur every year and encourages us to get outside and look for clues.
Seasons Song : Sing a Song of Seasons
Winter co-mes with the first frost,
No-w the lea-ves are bare,
We can sing of seasons,
Sing of seasons,
Snow falls in the air.
*
Winter leaves us and, then Spring comes,
Bringing new, lea-ves of green.
We can sing of seasons,
Sing of seasons,
Seasons in between.
*
Summer brings us the warm sunshine,
Playing outside with our friends,
We can sing of seasons,
Sing of seasons,
Hope it never ends!
*
Summer’s over then Autumn comes,
Painting the tre-es with gold,
We can sing of seasons,
Sing of seasons,
Then the wind turns cold.
*
Seasons tu-rn round every year,
Li-ke a ro-lling wheel,
We can sing of seasons,
Sing of seasons,
Happy we all feel!
(sung to the tune of I can Sing A Rainbow)
This song is very easy to pick up as it borrows the well known tune of I can Sing A Rainbow, and it can be sung at any time of year to accompany other seasonal activities that kids enjoy so much. It would also work well with any of our Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring Fairy songs.
Check out our pinterest boards for all sorts of educational and fun seasonal crafts and activities and visit our Autumn Lesson Plan for lots more seasonal and musical activities combined into a structured 30 min lesson.
I am so delighted I discovered your website!!!! Its a treasure trough full of ideas and possibilities. Although I am in Germany and sing mostly German songs with my children, it has opened up a whole new horizon of ideas to translate…and yes.. use the English songs as well!
Thank you so much!
Thank you Tina for your kind comment! I am so happy to think of you singing our songs with your children in Germany! ๐
