Christmas is such a magical time for kids, but it can be a bit confusing too! This Santa’s Sleigh song from our Easy Christmas Songs For Kids, helps to explain the magic of Christmas and the need to believe in Santa Claus!
Santa’s Sleigh Song
I wish I could see Santa,
Coming on his sleigh,
With all the toys for girls and boys,
It’s such a long , long way!
He’ll be coming Christmas Eve,
In the middle of the night,
He’ll travel in the moonlight,
When the stars are shining bright!
*
Oh Santa must be magic!
To do such special things,
So close your eyes and make a wish,
To see what he will bring,
I’ll be very good at bedtime,
And try to go to sleep,
But if I think it’s Santa,
I will really want to peep!
The Santa’s Sleigh song is easy to learn and pick up as it has a catchy, rhythmic swing to it. This makes it perfect for rocking backwards and forwards with a partner in the same way as in Row Row The Boat.
Although children will be only too pleased to sing and play this song with an adult, when kids love working together in pairs, it is so good for building confidence and learning about teamwork. Children should sit facing each other with their arms stretched out, holding hands. Encourage them to imagine that they are in a magic sleigh, whooshing through the snow just like Santa!
