We would all like our kids to have good manners, for without politeness where would we be? But as parents, we can always seem to be nagging about one thing or another. The Good Manners Song comes to the rescue here, and gently reminds children about a few basic good manners without the nagging!
The Good Manners Song
We say Thank You – We say Please
Pardon me – Excuse my sneeze! Don’t
Interrupt, wait for your turn,
These are things that we must learn.
Close your mouth when you eat food,
Always try not to be rude,
Hold your knife upon the right,
This is how to be polite!
Must be gentle, must be kind,
Sharing toys is fun, we find! If
Someone goes ‘A-ti-shoo!’ Re-
member to say ‘God Bless you!’
(To the tune of Little Brown Jug)
This is a great song to sing at circle time, check out 6 Circle Time Songs for some more popular activities that are really good for encouraging kids to join in and for building social skills.
