Exciting News!!
Our new music lesson plans are starting from today onwards. I will be publishing one a week for the following few terms. The first lesson theme is Clocks and Mice, a 30 minute music lesson plan for children from 2 1/2 to 5 years old.
This music lesson focuses on:
- Singing
- Recognising the steady beat
- Tapping rhythms
- Introduction to notation (minims/half notes, crotchets/ quarter notes and quavers/ eighth notes)
- Learning to recognise and pitch the So-Mi interval with resonator bells
- Listening skills
- Building confidence
- Using tone blocks and a variety of percussion instruments
The Clocks and Mice music lesson plan is 7 pages long, including 2 printables. These plans are not intended to read as a script, as everyone will have their own teaching style. More, I hope that they will provide you with in-depth guidance for a number of related activities that I have found in my years of teaching to be particularly effective and engaging combinations.
I will be adding more themes in the coming weeks, so you can keep up to date both with the ones already available and the ones i’m planning on publishing in the near future over on the Weekly Lesson Plan page. You can also check out our store page to see all of the digital resources available on the site.
I purchased five lesson plans from Let’s Play Music to teach to my preschool this Fall. I plan to start the year with Clocks and Mice.
I am excited to start these themed lessons, as well as confident that I have fun and easy way to teach music to my students. Sara has been a great help in responding to my questions with tips, ideas and best practices. So along with great plans, I have great support as well!
That’s great Jeanne! Thank you and I’m here to help!
